Commissioning of first Cogeneration Unit at JPS, Teheran
The first Combined Heat and Power Unit (CHP) started operations at JPS, Teheran at the end of October 2015. "The commissioning of this reference plant is an important milestone towards the market expansion of new energy concepts in Iran" says Klaus Sommer, CTO of SX-Energy.
The electrical output of the CHP is 140 kW and delivers additional thermal power up to 207 kW. During summer, the absorption refrigerator transfers the heat into cooling, offering peak power up to 100 kW.
"Our energy costs were significantly reduced", summarizes Jamshid Poursadeghsedigh, CEO of JPS, and adds: "future power purchase agreements with the Teheran Municipalty Government provide even greater incentives for operation of CHP operation."
